Sheriff Blotter: Woman Denies Hit & Run Despite Evidence On Car

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. -- A citizen who witnessed a hit-and-run between a silver sports car and a red Subaru in a Summit County parking lot did more than call the sheriff. The witness got a license plate number of the silver sports car before it took off.

A sheriff's deputy responding to the call found a red Subaru with damage and paint scratched off. In the police report obtained by 7NEWS, the officer noted "the Subaru was pulled all the way in to the parking spot and was not sticking out into the roadway at all."

The officer then went in search of the other vehicle. Using the license plate number, he tracked the vehicle to a home in the Keystone area. .

HOT live music at Super Thursday!

He did it well, too, pumping out a tight set that turned the massive crowd here into a sea of bouncing heads.

Hip-hop/R&B group Next took the stage after Pokafase. They pretty much walked off the red carpet and onto the stage.

Joey Fatone just walked by me.

Anyway, Next sounded impeccable. Their smooth groove was perfect for slow dancing in this brisk weather. They ended their set with their single "Wifey," and left the stage to DJ Roonie G, who spun a scribble fest filled with fierce beats and samples from everyone from Kanye West to Prince.

The crowd is going nuts behind me. Somebody's screaming for Jennifer Love-Hewitt. Not sure if she's actually here.

We'll be getting Diddy with it shortly. We hope.

The Fall of Romney, Inc.

In fairness to Team Romney, they did more right than not. They rose from single digits in the national polls to receiving 32% of the primary votes cast to date. They became the conservative establishment's choice. They leveraged mechanical and resource superiority into solid leads in Iowa and New Hampshire, giving Rudy Giuliani pause about competing in the early states and chasing John McCain from Iowa. They leveraged their candidate's mastery of pat, 60-second answers into dominance (and rising poll numbers) out of the first debates. They met their goal of winning Ames, and got a bump. They met their goal of 30,000 votes in the Iowa Caucus.

Nearly all of the benchmarks set by Romney, Inc. were met — and often with flying colors. They checked every box they needed to become the nominee.

Ross Garnaut says greenhouse gas targets to tackle climate change are ...

THE V8, bar fridge and dodgy air-conditioner could be things of the past as the man commissioned to review climate change policy urges MASSIVE cuts.

Professor Ross Garnaut released his interim report from the Garnaut Climate Change Review in Adelaide today and warns Australia could "possibly be the biggest loser among developed nations".

The report also states that Australia’s interest in strong global action stems from its "exceptional sensitivity to climate change", and its "exceptional opportunity to do well in a world of effective global mitigation".

"We have many resources and skills that will allow us to convert strong global action into an economic opportunity," Professor Garnaut said.

"We have a first-rate skills base in areas related to innovation, management and financial services.
