The project, worth over Dhs150m ($40.8m), involves the completion of 60,000 sq metres of exterior cladding to Boulevard Plaza's impressive architecture. Boulevard Plaza, due for completion in the fourth quarter of 2009, will add significant commercial space to the Downtown Burj Dubai community and form a spectacular and iconic addition to Dubai's skyline. More Act 309 inmates needed, board member says

Also former Lonoke Mayor Thomas Privett pleaded no contest to theft of services, a misdemeanor, for having state inmates perform chores at his home."Those are issues of the past," Jones said Tuesday. "I don't see those types of issues now. We really keep a tight reign on the program ... we're doing a really, really good job of supervising the program now."The prison board voted Tuesday to support the Arkansas Sheriffs Association as it studies raising the state reimbursement rate for housing state inmates in county jails. Currently, the state pays counties $28 a day to hold state inmates because of overcrowding in the state system.Board member Mary Parker said she did not want the board to be viewed as advocating the association's effort, while member Leroy Brownlee urged the board to support the association.
Kids Huff Freon to Get High
CARBONDALE, Ill. - During these 'dog days of summer' air conditioning units are working overtime trying to keep homes and offices cooled down. But many of those air conditioning units are becoming the target of kids wanting to drain the freon gas from inside and inhale it, sometimes with deadly results. "They feel a euphoria, light-headiness and they may pass out. But it's that euphoria that they're going after. Unfortunately what these kids don't know is there is long term damage to the body from breathing in freon gas," said Doctor Donna Carney at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Authorities say the way the kids are using the gas to get high is by placing a plastic bag over their head. Then they fill the bag with freon gas. It's heavier than oxygen so it forces the oxygen out of the bag, leaving only the dangerous gas.
