Barton said when he first began considering COPs he too was "reluctant and hesitant and quite doubtful." But the public safety building just doesn't have the support, Barton said. He said his son, home from college, didn't know where the police department is, at 275 Forest Ave., while he "knew where all the libraries are." But the city will have to work hard to find the money to pay for the project, Barton said. Staff estimates the building's cost will climb by about $500,000 for each month of delay after April 2009, based on the $69 million estimate and a 10 percent increase in building materials the city has experienced over the past two years. "The key is to get us moving down the road and getting this building built," Barton said. The COPs would be issued in April 2009, when construction is slated to begin.

CARAG — The former Music-Go-Round building at Lake Street and Fremont Avenues was demolished earlier this month to make way for construction staging for the Calhoun Square parking ramp.It’s a first step toward the Hennepin Avenue & Lake Street center’s long-awaited redevelopment planned to begin this spring. Demolition work and site clearing began Feb. 6 and was scheduled to last seven to 10 days, said the center’s general manager Gayle Siegler, who works for Minnetonka-based Capital Growth Madison Marquette (CGMM). "You will understand the normal physiology of how the milk is produced," she said. The consultant, working with a doll, can help women practice the best positions to breast-feed and get comfortable with the concept. Be sure the hospital personnel know you want to breast-feed. "Make your wishes known," Bonuck said. "Some [hospitals] have cards that say, 'Breast-feed only.' " That reduces the risk of confusion and your baby mistakenly getting a bottle of formula, Bonuck said.

I heard Jamie Hector is going to be cast in the new Biggie Movie. All of you that watch “The Wire" know that Jamie plays the cold blooded Marlo from the show. Man, that dude is ruthless on that show. I'm hearing that Jamie will be playing Biggie's best friend, D-Roc. We'll see how this develops.
